st pats day

we took the boys downtown for the parade. it was sooooo awesome. we walked around for a long time and then found a spot to stop. august had so much fun picking up candy. he was so polite and asked each time if he could eat a piece before he did. we didn't get to take much home, as it was eaten there on the street. i let it go since it's a very special treat to go to a parade. h napped on my back in the beco the whole time, and afterwards we went to lunch and for more walking. we all got sun-kissed today, which makes gus extra adorable.
i set to work on my spring cleaning this afternoon. i worked hard for what seemed like forever but it was only a few hours. i did the whole first floor. all furniture got moved out and cleaned behind. every floor surface was scrubbed or vaccuumed. most of the toys were cleaned and i have my eye on lots of stuff for our garage sale coming up later this year. i also cleaned all the windows, except for the one over the sink that doesn't open. whew! the boys didn't really help, but they were excited by the furniture moving. gus is obsessed with mud lately, so he made a pretend mud puddle on the floor out of couch cushions to jump on while i vaccuumed the couch.
i am bone-tired. my joints ache from walking, carrying a baby on my back, and scrubbing floors. i have another day or so of stuff to do, including the boys' closets and sorting through their clothes for the sale.
