i just want to whine that my children are wearing me out. they are so loveable and squishy and cute but oh, am i tired. here's a breakdown of the last few days: ear infection, whiney, clingy, won't sleep more than a few hrs at a time, waking for the day at 515. otherwise fine, eating, WALKINGEVERYWHERE. other kid: must.be.in.physical.contact.with.mama. that goes for everything except when he is pottying. that is another story. he was trying my patience the other day during my hour of power where i pretty much need a hug every day (4pm) so i filled the kitchen sink with soapy water, handed him some hot wheels and the soap dispenser and said "wash cars. leave mama alone for a while." i retired to my chair and sat in peace for about five minutes, when i heard a dripping noise, looked over, and gus had his pants at his ankles and was peeing in the kitchen sink. he could barely reach, standing on the kitchen chair, and was soooo proud of himself. he pointed and said, "gus pee pee in the sink mommy!" yea good job buddy. i laughed so hard i had tears running down my face.
my aunt has blessed us with several bins of toys, really nice stuff, but i regret saying ok to the thomas the tank engine stuff. i think it's a little old for him anyway, but he got into it the other day and jj set it all up for him and now gus is SO DRAMATIC about them. he doesnt know how to keep them on the rail, so they derail, get stuck and he flips out. over and over. plus, when they arent' on the track they make an annnnnoying sound. in addition, they aren't appropriate for babies to gnaw on, so i'm constantly taking them out of someone's mouth. i keep making the trains go bye bye but they keep reappearing. must figure out new system. praying for warmer weather.........................................

I love that he peed in the sink. We actually "trained" (by trained I mean she wouldn't go potty unless SHE wanted to!) Grace by letting her pee outside all summer. She thought it was a hoot although we did get some strange stares in public a few times (oh well). Good for Gus for going potty!!!
