my dad showed up yesterday and stayed with us all day. it was awesome because i just needed someone here. i dont need help or a break and he knows that. we ate takeout, i knitted and we played with the boys together-lots of playdoh. gus was tired when papa left and asked to rocky-bye. it has been a year since he has let me rock him and i miss it. h cant stand rocking. he is in a blanket cocoon nursing right now, rubbing my belly in his sleep. aw.
jj called me late last night to tell me the car wouldn't start. he finally had to take a cab home and i had to take the boys out to get him to work this morning. i always get lost in the bottoms when i have to go to his building and it's scary. since we were out i went over to uu for a playdate. gus was silent and shy but he did play a little. hudson did too, after he knocked over my coffee and sat in it, soaking everything. i had him layered and in a cloth dipe, so thank goodness i pack all of that crap when we go out. it was a nice quiet visit. i didnt have houston so it was a free play day. after dinner i got a big bowl of snow and let the boys play with it. gus took his clothes off, so when he got cold i just filled the tub and he warmed up. hudson stood on the outside of the tub and played in it a little, too. i think he was confused by the cold.
the hat pic is my first hat, the good side. finally got a good shot of it. hudson is fascinated by my knitting basket. i'm always finding objects in it that he left there, like that tambourine.
before i close this, let me give a thank you shout-out to the disney company, who, without my asking, sent us a bunch of stickers. those stickers kept my toddler's attention for about 6 minutes while he stuck them to the kitchen floor as i was using the restroom. during the 40 minutes it took me to scrape them off of my floor he was able to dunk several stuffed animals in the toilet as hudson watched. it sounded like they were just playing in august's room. so thanks, disney, for making sure i didn't get bored this afternoon.
