my parents live across the field from didley's, the car-hop/drive in movie/insert fun family activity here/place. they are obsessed with it....well, my dad is. he gets so excited when the farmers harvest the corn so he can see what's going on with didley's again. they have a playground, drive in movie theater but you have to sit on the grass, mini golf course (MINI), some RC car track that gus liked last year, and soon to be a 30-person ride on train. here's the best part....papa bus, driver of 81 passengers twice daily with no standees permitted, has been snagged as the conductor of the train. or is it engineer? he even has a hat. i have a huge grin on my face right now.
we went there to eat tonight as they enclosed part of the place as a real restaurant. it has the cook from the old family fungus, so i was expecting the same thing. it was gross! i ordered chicken tenders for august, which arrived raw and pink in the middle. my burger was undercooked, bloody, and covered in about an inch of mayo. i got sick after eating two bites of it and i couldn't even drink anything. i thought i was going to hurl just sitting there. the owners tried to make it right but i still felt like crap. one lady, i think was the manager, came over and exclaimed to my parents (with me sitting right there with my children) that she had not seen me since i was "red-haired and all tatooed." well, my hair is the same color and last time i checked tatoos are permanent. the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way. i will eat there again, in a long long time, but i'll probably just order coffee. they just opened, so i understand, but yuck for tonight. my parents can continue to be in love with didleyland but i'm going to stick with what i know. at least we can ride the train.

Well, technically you still do have red hair, and you still have the same tattoo. So you haven't changed much since the last time she saw you, right? lol
Jim just ate at Didleys yesterday for lunch.
yuuuuuuuck
