weekend mish mash

friday was a trip to the beefer with my parents and the boys. gus was NORMAL again. everyone said "terrible twos" but my gut wasn't feeling it. we are back in business. it took five days to recover from last weekend. i feel bad that he was so out of it at the playdate. we'll try again. my mom bought him a simple little toy horse that he absolutely loves. its private parts are painted brown and gus thinks it's hilarious that the horse "pooped."

yesterday jj worked a four hour shift so we cleaned the house and then he was off. the boys napped while i worked out some more activities for gus for school. i'm trying each one out before i commit to it because some of them take a lot of involvement. one was obviously cooking, but he did 95% of it. i helped place the num nums but he told me how to spell it out. hudson was scootin all over the place. he is working on teeth still, so drooling everywhere, but he is totally fine. god bless the amber necklace. he is the cuddliest and jolliest baby i've ever seen. when jeremy got home from work we made a fort for gus. he asks for it every day now. i got in it with him and got stuck so we giggled a lot. after they went to bed i dyed my hair and chatted with jj.

today we went to metamora. it was hard to leave the "house" but he was ok with it when i said we'd go on a treasure hunt when we got there. i threw hudson in the mei tai and we got a treasure bag and took off. i was hoping he'd collect nice stuff for a waldorf inspired centerpiece and mr gus didn't disappoint! i will post a pic of it when we make it tomorrow. it was "brrr freezy" so red cheeks and hot coffee for me. we dug through some of my stuff that is still over there and i found a neil diamond cd. i LOVE him. anyway, it was lovely and relaxed and TV FREE! we're on our way. i cut up a mango for everyone at dinner and hudson enjoyed it. he only eats what he can pick up so it's a bit of this and a handful of that, still, at 8.5 months. isn't he gorgeous? after august's bad week it was so nice to have our simple calm weekend together. i have the longest thank you list ever this year. if i can get around to it i'll post it.
