go meat!

i heart that hilshire farms commercial. today was a babysitting day. it is weird that i 'work' part-time. houston just fits in my already chaotic life. we went on a looong walk while hudson slept in the mei tai so now my feet hurt all day. i will be watching houston on wednesdays now, too. i get overwhelmed sometimes but jeremy is such a great help. he doesn't see childcare as my job only; he has always pitched in without me asking. i take responsibility for the housework but he will always help with the kids.
i feel like i'm wasting time but i'm going to bed shortly. i'd sew but my body is bone-tired. i dyed my hair burgundy tonight. it is so awesome, but takes an insane amount of rinsing while standing bent over in the shower. plus, while it was setting in, hudson woke up with his little mew mew'ing so i had to come up and nurse him without getting the red on anything. when he saw me and my wet, slimy hair he got all wide-eyed. hard to nurse side lying without resting my head.
i did a few fun things with august today. he has been really interested in cooking since i started exposing him to how i "cook" HAHA in the kitchen. i have his own tools on the shelf to play with all the time and yesterday i found a kid microwave that spins and lights up and beeps, etc....SOOO much fun and maybe it will keep play food out of my real microwave. he likes to try to "cook D cow" and then he'll forget where he put Dcow. we made brownies together. i have done this before, but the way he cracks eggs is more like squishing them so i have to be quick to get the shell fragments out of the batter. um, oops? who will be the lucky winner of an eggshell? i should wait until after tomorrow to post this so no one at laura's is the wiser.........we also made pudding and i put a dollop in four individual cups with lids so they are toddler-sized. he loves eating things portioned out like that.
he is a democrat, voting in earnest for Barack O-mama.
