num-nums

that's what august calls skittles. i refer to them as skittles, and m&ms as MMs(no and) and he turned it into num nums. chicken is cock-cock. grandpas are papa. tonight we waved hello to the giant risen 'moob' in the sky. chocolate milk is 'choc choc in.' tonight while singing a quick "more N N" to him he decided he was done "bye go bye bye night night mama." he was using christmas cookie cutters to play with playdoh at my parents' house tonight. none of the cutters were santa or anything, just basic shapes like a star, candy cane and bell. he said ho ho ho like santa does, so he understands what shapes go together. when leaving anna's house today he counted the last flight of stairs, all on his own. i didn't realize what he was doing until he got to number five because 1-4 aren't really clear yet. when he got to ten he said O. he has 90% of the alphabet down now. tomorrow we are going to tackle the letter Q. all of this sounds sooooo basic for a two year old but we have come SO far, so i felt he needed a brag post.
hudson, on the other hand, tried banana tonight. it was the only thing there i would allow in his mouth. guess what...one taste and he puked all over himself. ALL OVER. and then he hunched over in the high chair and cried because he isn't ready to do all of that yet. he just wants handfuls of my food. no, i'm not going to spoon it into his mouth. i feel terrible for making him miserable. my mom intuition is telling me to wait longer but i wanted to do something new. every time i get that urge to do something new it is a disaster.
