back in action

my sewing machine, that is...all i've had the energy to do the past few weeks is mend stuff and work on a diaper. i lost interest in it so i put it aside for the time being. the thing is, i have achieved stash nirvana; we aren't in need of any. i do have lots of hemp and a yard of super soft bamboo fleece. i decided i am in love with bamboo. when we redo the kitchen i'm doing bamboo floors because i want wood, but i want sustainable wood. anyway i felt the need to work on a project so i did. it took me all afternoon and an hour tonight but i'm proud of myself. my craftsmanship still sucks but what the hell do i care. it works.
august was very spirited tonight. he wanted something from me but i wasn't sure exactly what. i tried several things and made a nutritious and balanced dinner but he still acted out. he was asking for boundaries, so i gave him boundaries and comforted him when it wasn't what he wanted to do. i feel like we are heading into a very important part of his development and i want to be on top of it.

i love bamboo wood floors too! since we've been fixing up the house, we have only been purchasing eco-friendly, sustainable products but haven't been able to when it comes to floor (the new carpet). the best carpet by far is wool but you have to be upper class to afford it! it's discouraging that lower middle class cannot afford to be as green.
