stuff

i've been sewing like a madwoman, but i don't have a lot to show for it. mostly i just do things to be creative, like making hudson's "fiddle faddle" tag pillow, or using random flannel to make burp cloths. my main goal is to get really good at diapers. i want to get rid of most of august's and have him in fitteds or home-made stuff. I don't like how the name brand diapers fit him. they don't even work. the two on the left are hemp inner/hemp and hemp inner/flannel. they are fitteds, which means they go under a cover (bumkins rock!!) the one on the right is a cover with pul sandwiched between cotton and microfleece. i used it on gus yesterday with a hemp prefold doubler and it worked great! i may be onto something with that. i haven't tried bamboo or the terry cloth yet but those will mostly be for soakers. my stitches are soooo awful yet. i have issues with tension, but i figured out elastic! woohoo! three point zigzag! it's easy.
