i'm typing this while listening to his speech at the dnc. vote for change!
after yesterday's hoopla, today was delightful. i let gus wear lounge wear all day. it was no tv day (at least when they were awake ha ha). however, hudson isn't getting enough sleep. he woke at 630 or so, awake until 1045, slept 15min, awake and crabby as hell until 2, woke three times inbetween 2 and 430, and now is finally asleep at 915. i tried so hard to get him to sleep during his usual windows but no dice. he nursed the normal amounts. he doesn't sleep through the night by any means but that's when he does the majority of nursing. that was the worst part today, trying to keep him relaxed.
august was great today. hugs, lots of talking, checking in for a kiss or a greeting...we did crafts tonight, too. i held h in my lap and let him chew on a new wooden spoon while gus glued pictures of his favorite things on paper. we went for a short walk and sang songs. it was a day that i like best. things were simple and fun. at dinner i gave him an open cup of milk and held my breath while he picked it up. slurp slurp, gulp gulp and a big AHHHH. not a drop spilled! when did my baby get so big???
