we were so busy for the past week. childrens museum. easter. monday crazies of cleaning, dog maintenance, laundry. tues we went to the farm so gus could ride tractors. wed babysit. thurs playdate, shopping with mom, coffee with the AP ladies. friday babysit. sat and today we were up in the suburbs visiting my sister and brother in law. it was only our 2nd overnight since hudson was born, and i think it went great! since the kids spent most of the day asleep in the car i let them stay up late. we were at toys r us playing until 830! we did a family cosleep (with gus too) and i LOVED it.
i am just so so tired. i can't do that like i used to. h 'sleeps' maybe 3 nights a week now. the rest of the nights are incredibly difficult. he has been moderately chewing on his fingers and i found two molars coming up, so maybe once they pop through we will be better sleepers. i remember when gus had those come through his sleep was atrocious, and he has always been a good sleeper. hudson is in a good mood all day, eating a ton. i couldn't even knit much on the drive back. it was making me more drowsy.
i used sunscreen on august friday afternoon, and he broke out in hives all over his face and ears where i had applied it. hudson already had hives from eating a strawberry. i broke down and gave them benadryl because august looked so swollen like he had been in a fight. it is full of red #40 though, evil evil evil. i am unsure of what to do about the sunscreen thing. i'm going to research it for a more natural option, because we are outside all summer long.
i'm going to go start my dough for pretzels. jj and i are worn out but in the mood to continue our weekend of eating whatever we want, then tomorrow it's crunch time. he's even doing a cleanse, something i have to put off until hudson weans. *hopefully before he's 10

let me know what you find for "nat. sunscreen". I have found that claim to be "free" or whatever but they all seem to have chemicals and stuff I don't want to be slathering all over my babies. Much like you we spend every min of nice days outside. So if come across anything PLEASE share!!!
it looks like i'm going to have to buy the pricey stuff, but since i have two boys to cover and lots of swimming time coming up i bought them coverup tops with spf protection. it will save some money in the long run. the active ingredient in the natural ones is zinc oxide, so if i get desperate i will mix that with whatever i have on hand and keep them in the shade as much as possible
