my finger hurts

from knitting. i didn't get the sewing machine out yesterday, but have almost completed a a hat. i just have to seam it together later this evening. my darning needle is buried amongst my sewing crap so i have to dig it out without little hands helping me. i really enjoy all the help i get, and it seems like overnight i have a new "helper" for everything. he helped eat the corn houston threw on the floor at lunch time (didn't see that until too late). he helped empty out houston's diaper bag all over the living room while i was rocking h2 to sleep. he also helped me put puffs in between august's toes so gus could eat with his feet. that part was sooooo much fun. houston just looked at us like we were crazy. i have read a thousand times about the "witching hour" in various magazines and i've only begun to experience it. with three that nap poorly, if at all, around 4pm we are all crabby. that is now puff/signing time. i've done it for a few weeks now, and even when houston isn't here we still do it and it's fun! like i said, gus learned to eat with his toes today. hudson stood the entire time and figured out how to hold on to my shoulder, eat puffs and sign MILK at the same time. houston had his hood up all day long and jeremy dubbed him The Gatekeeper. it was a nice, snowy day.
what a relief it is to be able to put the boys in august's room to play while i vaccuum and clean the bathroom. i check on them periodically and that's it. no more waiting to sweep until jj was home. hudson will be walking soon, and then my life will be so awesome. i had a dream saturday night that i was about to give birth in my bed. amazing, yes, but i am so not ready for another one.
since the rest of the week will be too cold for computer time up here i probably won't post. i've got lots of crafting lined up for downstairs, including some awesome grass-printed paper i got on sale. it's gorgeous. we're saving for dirt-poor days so spending 96cents on paper wasn't a big deal.
