xmas pics

we spent xmas eve in decatur. it was wonderful and peaceful and drama free. i forgot my camera, so no pics of that. gus and h got a table and chair set for crafting, among other things. my inlaws bought me a beco! it is the Best Thing Ever. h had a nap on my back and it was like nothing. i did laundry, folded dipes, etc with him back there. i highly recommend it. it will be great for hiking. after we got home jj and i continued our tradition of beverages and watching the pope say mass from st peters. i never get over how grand it is. i'm glad i got to see it in person. i like recognizing some of the latin spoken in the mass. my dad took me to a latin service once and it was awesome. he used to say bits and pieces of it all the time so i like to hear it on xmas eve.

xmas morning was also quiet and joyful. the boys took their time unwrapping gifts. there was a beautiful wooden kitchen for gus and he is in love. he got a wood cutting food set and was cooking for hudson tonight. hudson's fav gifts were the green sock monkey and stacking toy. he also likes the wood food and the beco. jj and i relaxed and i made his fav breakfast. one of the pics is gus marching while playing his harmonica. hilarious.

we went to my parents' for dinner. it was nice there, like old times. we opened gifts before others came. h fell asleep on my dads shoulder for an hour. gus put a bow on my moms head that she forgot about and it stayed there all night. she bought h some nice wooden teethers and he has been drooling all over them today. our days werent exciting, just simple and nearly perfect. i want every holiday to be this way. it was awesome. i'm thankful we have each other and we are all healthy. i'm thankful we have our homes to celebrate in and gifts to exchange. i'm also thankful that the gifts could have been eliminated and we all still would have had just as much fun.
