Hudson's first Halloween

I didn't do much for his first Halloween. It's not second child syndrome, because I didn't for August then, either. He had his pumpkin shirt on and stripey pants. Next year we will do a costume, hopefully made by me. August was COOKIE MONSTER, of course. He fell asleep on the way to Metamora so we weren't too sure he'd be good for trick or treating. We ate dinner and took them out later. Hudson fell asleep in the mei tai immediately and Gus caught on really quickly that if he knocked on the door and provided some general cuteness he'd get candy in his pumpkin bucket. It's the same bucket I used as a toddler.
It was neat to take him out. Last year I was stuck in bed for his first ToT and it made me sad. We took him down a street in Metamora that I always went to for Halloween. It brought back a lot of memories. We met up with Sydney and his parents and then everything was so much more fun. Sydney was Superman, and after they'd collect their goodies they both asked for mamas and we'd continue on. I feel bad that I didn't take a lot of pictures but it was a chaotic night. I'll try to post one later tonight.
I'd like to give a shout-out to the Wilburs' on Davenport street: they had a special bucket for the little ones and gave August Halloween pretzels, goldfish and raisins. Awesome. We went no-sugar and I had fun size play doh to hand out, but we left before we had any trick or treaters.
