colors

gus learned yellow and purple today. he is struggling with red for some reason. he also knows green, white, orange, and blue. we have been painting quite a bit, so learning the names for the colors has come quickly for him. purple sounds like 'pee-urple.' good news, i found a HULK POTTY! it's really just a baby bjorn potty in hulk-green. i left it up on the screen for jeremy to find last night so we'll discuss tomorrow morning. i think gus is just sitting on his potty to see if we'll turn on the tv. i do, but he gets up after a nanosecond and off goes the tv. we do this all day. i need to disassociate tv and potty.
we went on a loooong walk today. everyone was bundled up and cozy so we did two laps of our 45min walk. the sky was crystal clear and i brought crackers along so all was well. houston was very cheerful today. he ate home-mushed peas. i tried to feed hudson but he gagged and choked. i don't know what's up with him. i am trying to do the baby-led weaning but i thought i'd try a little of the puree since melissa made it but he just can't handle anything but milk yet. if he licks something off of his hand he does ok, but that isn't really 'eating.' i'll just keep trying. i'm not in a hurry but he is 7.5 months old. i wanted to delay solids but i thought he'd be eating more by now. he is a pumpkin.
ever since my mama playdate i have been obsessed with pomegranates. yum! schnucks has a big old bin of them and i'm going to get another one tomorrow. gus was pink from the juice.
